Chien-Chang Cheng - The Mark of the Island

1998

21 x 29 cm

Chien-Chang Cheng's creations use tangible people, mountains, islands, land, rivers, trees, clouds, etc. as elements, using deformation and phantom methods as metaphors for the invisible and infinite spiritual body; he uses the replacement of identity symbols to let the external environment factors dialogue with the original needs of the inner soul and pursue spiritual freedom beyond the constraints of the body. He often uses pure colors to show the power of sincerity; he uses halo techniques to express heaviness and gestalt; he uses the contrast between the huge and the small to express the insignificance of human beings, as well as the throbbing and reverence for infinite power.
